These beautiful little subterranean plants (Lycopodium Digitatum) are a variety of clubmoss, more commonly known as "Fan Clubmoss". Clubmosses are an ancient plant species which produce spores instead of seeds. Fan Clubmoss have a cedar-like appearance, and evergreen leaves. The leaf pattern resembles the blades of a fan, hence the nickname "Fan Clubmoss". They also may be referred to as "Ground Cedar". They grow prostrate along long rhizomes which use tiny hairs that "grip" the surface they are growing on, with the plants appearing at approximately 2" to 4" intervals.
Clubmoss do very well in terrariums and vivariums due to their shallow root system.
